My new and exciting Supercars video

Hey guys,

so finally I release my next Supercars video. I did improve on the last one, or at least attempted to.

This is the first video on any of my personal channels that has used the new uploading method on YouTube, and in addition I shared the video via Twitter, Tumblr, and Blogger. I am quite nervous, because I also posted it into the V8Supercars community on Reddit.

I am a little happy with how it turned out, and will of course now discuss my thoughts on it.

First of all, I think that the topic will stand the test of time a bit better than the McLaughlin or Simona videos. This is because, like the retirement video, I discuss something that probably won't disappear any time soon, which is motor racing and the nature of competition to cause teams to rise and fall.

The second point is that I have chosen not to put my character into the videos anymore. This is because I just don't see a point of having it there and it doesn't add anything to what I'm doing.

Thirdly, the structure of the video is better than the previous ones. I continue to use a contents list to remind the viewer how the video is progressing and what is coming up next. I also made a modification to the way that the title of each segment appears. It now lingers on, while the rest of the test fades away. Also in terms of writing, I made sure to continuously remind the viewer what the subject matter is. This may take away from my earlier point about the subject standing the test of time, as I constantly remind the viewer that the video is about Walkinshaw Andretti United.

My final point is that I don't find the video enjoyable to watch. My voice is terrible and doesn't make the video interesting, which is why I use music. Reading from a script is hard, and so I'm not sure if I should memorise it like when I did presentations in Uni or if I should just redo the lines until I get them right. I did redo the audio recording, by the way, and so I may need to change my approach in the future.

Anyway, that's me done venting. If you would like to discuss this with me, I'm best contacted via email at mrmabeanie@gmail.com, and also Twitter as MrMabeanie.

Thanks and See Ya!
